Ive bought a new laptop battery for my Acer 6920G. The battery is 14.8V. It shows its charging but it does not charge at all. My old battery was 11.1V. Can i make this new battery compatible with my laptop? I asked a friendand he said i need a more powerful charger for my Laptop and it will work fine. Is this true?
You can't force the battery with a higher charge to work without damaging the computer. If the battery is a direct replacement it should work. If your original charger is not capable of charging the battery you can consider a charger replacement but I suspect the original charger you where using was bad to begin with if that is the case. You can try locating a replacement charger but you need to make sure it is rated for computer so you don't damage the power system.
