In order to
connect your
camcorder to your
computer, and download your pictures or videos, you have to install the drivers for your camcorder and
windows Operating system before you connect your comcorder to your computer. Here are the steps in sequence to
install the drivers.
1- Use the
CD which came with your camcorder and
install the drivers.
2- After installing the drivers, Connect your camcorder to your
PC and turn the dial to play (Turn on the comcorder if not on).
Follow the screen until it says ready.
3- Now click start, then computer. You should see several icons with one of them having all or part of Sony DCR-TRV16E Mini
DV Camcorder. If you double click on that icon, you would see one or more folders with your stored pictures and
videos. Now you can
download, copy delete all of them.

i lost the driver that came with camera.how can i transfer video on my pc.
I bought mine as an "Open Box" so it didn't come with the CD, Battery, Charger, or any wires. I called JVC who said they do not allow customers to download the software for free, but I could buy the CD from them for $32, if I wanted to view and edit my videos on a PC. I told them I would try hooking it up to my DVD Writer first, before dropping an outrageous $31 on stinking software.
