Tried turning on my Sony and no picture no sound, just a black screen

My cable works but there's no picture. The timer/bystand light blinks and few times and then just stops. Please help!

1997 Sony KV-27S26

We have to let the TV warm up before the picture will come in.

Sometimes it takes 25 minutes and it is just luck that after turningthe TV on and off the picture will come in. Volume is fine, channel's are fine, the picture is perfect when it finally warms up.

We know the TV works.....just frustrating because we never know if the picture will come in. [email protected]

Sony is known for having problems with the picture tube. Sometimes it will blink on and off. also bad connections on the main board. A CRT restorer will sometimes help with picture tube problems but this must be done by a tech that has one.

Turn on the TV and only Timer light is on , no sound & picture

after holding down the menu and device the led will blink a two digit error code such as 3 blinks pause then 4 blinks then repeat that sequence a couple of times. Need that blink code to help let you know whats going on. The 34 code means lamp abnormality which translates to the power Pwb capacitors have most likely failed.
