Levono 3000 n100 Notebook shuts down all the time


1. Pull out the battery.
2. Open the panel on the bottom that has the fan and remove the fan and heat sink. 3. Clean the top of cpu, 4. Put some thermal paste on the cpu
5. Put it all back together. 6. Safely dispose of the battery, If you plug the battery back in you will have to go through the whole process again 7. Run off ac adapter.
8. Buy a new battery.

Usually an overheating CPU is a result of bad or insufficient CPU grease.

If it is a desktop:
- Unplug
- Remove case cover
- Replug, BRIEFLY turn on to make sure CPU FAN is working properly
- IF FAN DOESN'T WORK:
- Replace fan!
- IF FAN DOES WORK:
- Unplug fan power cord
- Remove heat sink and clean with compressed air
- Carefully remove CPU from socket after releasing it via hinge mechanism
- Using rubbing alcohol and cotton or lint free cloth, clean cpu and bottom of heat sink of old grease
- TO APPLY NEW GREASE (purchase from anywhere):
- USE SMALL AMOUNTS! One of the big mistakes with applying is the tendency to put too much
- I'd suggest 3 to 4 dabs, no more than 3 to 4 millimeters in diameter
- Replace heat sink
- Use a program such as CPUID HWmonitor (freeware) to monitor temperature. It should hover in the 60 centigrade. If constantly above 74 then you may need to reapply grease.

If it is a laptop:

You can use most of the steps above but getting to the heat-sink will be tricky as the proprietary design of every make and model makes it difficult to access internal parts. I'd suggest taking it in!

Laptop won't boot turns on then off after about

Hello,

Your Laptop seems to be full of dust - Maybe your CPU Heat sink FAN cannot turn because if this THUS causing your laptop to heat up and shut down again to prevent your CPU from receiving damage due to high temperature.

Close your laptop lid, then put the unit on its backlcd. Make sure you disconnect the Battery and the A/C Power chord. With the emty battery slot is facing you, take note of the screw that is facing you to the right on the bottom cover. There might be others like this in the same area. The cover that you need to remove is of rectangular shape, and the largest cover.

When you have removed it you should see the CPU Heat sink and a FAN. This is the part where you blow the unit out at that spot with compressed air so that the dirt will no longer block the heat from venting away from the laptop mainboard/cpu.Please check if the CPU FAN is still turning licenly. If it doesn't turn or very difficult - replace .

Then, remove the 3 screws from the CPU heat sink and thereby remove the HEAT sink completely. Remove the CPU Heat sink FAN and clean it as nessesary. Use a small flat to switch the CPU from closed to open and remove it. Then clean it with a cloth and ethanol - make sure you remove all dirt and old heat sink paste on top if it. make sure you do not touch the bottom of the CPU and handle the pins carefully.

When you are done, place the CPU back and reaaply a eyedrop of fresh heatsink paste onto the CPU, lock the CPU switch again. Then clean the backside of the CPU heat sink where it rests on the CPU. When you are done with that, place the CPU heat sink back onto the CPU then screw the 3 screws back onto the CPU heat sink and onto the mainboard. Keep the sequence in mind. Reconnect the CPU Heat sink FAN to power on the mainboard with the cable then place the cover back onto it. Tighten all screws again and reconnect battery and A/C Power chord.

3 of 4 rings were red, now no lights at all

ok the three red rings was lit to notify you that your board, cpu and gpu have experienced a significant source of heat. So much in fact you really should bring it to a repair shop. I see these at least 4-5 times a day your 360 needs to be disassembled and the heat sinks removed this will allow you access to the cpu and gpu both sides of the board need to be heated with a equal amount of heat to heat up the solder and reseat both chips.

laptop will not work,charge,boot

DO IT ONLY IF U R A PROFESSIONAL..
..plz do check the following as in order:..
the Hardware part:..
1) check mains/power supply..the fuse, switch, wiring n associated circuitry..

2) [in case of desktop] the smps itself may b defective/faulty..check the outputs of smps viz. 0v (black~ground); +12v(yellow); +5v (red, green~ps-on, violet~pg& grey~sb); -12v (blue);-5v(white); +3.3v(orange)..
check the battery n adapter [main power], in case of laptops..
replace with a standby n see..

3) unplug mains supply..pick open/remove the cmos battery..check (above +3v)..resit..

4) open the cpu n see if heat is generated..if not..replace the cpu n see..

5) open the CPU Heat-Sink with fan out of the socket..put some "Heat Sink Compound" (available in local electronics chip level spare market)between the cpu/processor and the CPU Heat Sink *** fan..resit/fit it tightly in position..

6) on main/mother board..see with a debug card for mb error..may b short..look for defective capacitors(espabove1000mfd)/mosfets..go through the mb's south bridge n the circuit lie around atx connector..the crystal clock generator (if cpu isn't heating up)..
replace with a standby n see..

7)see if the ram(s) is loose/faulty..open clean/remove carbon & or oxide formed on the teeth with an eraser n resit it..or replace with a standby n see..

8)remove/clean dust neatly..dust is non-uniform in nature n may cause jam/short circuitry/excess resistance n many more..resulting an increase in heat..

plz give priority to steps(2, 4 & 6)..

if u r not a professional, always better to seek advise from ur system admin/vendor....

Socket 478 3 GHz Intel CPU overheating

Simply open/unlock the clips and pull the heatsink off. Then you will need to remove the termal compound from both on top of the CPU and from the bottom of the heatsink. Papertowel + rubbing alcohol works well. Then you will need to re-apply thermal compound before reseating the heatsink/fan.
