Power off the printer .disconnect the all usb or lan cable .open the front cover press or hold down the go button on the power 30 seconds hold down the go button ,when the 3 lid is up then press the go button 2 times all lid of press the go button 6 times . restart the printer close the front cover active lid is warming up after green then you can sure toner counter reset. eg some times it not reset when your toner cartridge is empty or too low toner.

When the toner light is on this means the toner is empty and needs to be replaced before it can print again. Replace the toner and you will be able to print again.

need printer service ,some times when the laser unit dirty than u should clean all optical mirror inside laser unit. sometime comes from drum , also if the fuser unit defective, last chance change toner cartridge.

HL 5250DN Toner light is on . i have new toner , but still it showing toner light on .....
In case of a simple memory glitch, power down the printer, remove the toner cartridge, carefully swing it side to side (the cartridge, not the printer!), reinsert, and power back on.
Hopefully that will do the trick.
As always, make sure your OS as well as your drivers are all up to date.

I've installed a new drum AND a new toner cartridge. have followed all directions to reset the drum and the light still flashes and I can't print, this is for a brother HL-5250DN printer
Try this....
1: Turn off power and remove toner/drum
2: Tape the little spring loaded lever just inside the printer on the upper left hand side in the *DOWN* position! Do not replace drum yet and...
3: Turn power on to printer and let it cycle. Status/Toner lights will come on as usual.
4: Turn off printer, remove tape from lever, replace drum and turn back on.

The problem coming because there is some paper jam in side the printer. Remove the toner cartridge and look inside the printer for any paper jam.

Fuser Problem?? The ink does not cover the left side of the page
Pull out the toner/drum and on the backside there is a blueish/purple tab, it slides from side to side along a corona wire. Move the tab back and forth several times and then put the toner/drum back in and reprint.
Below are the instructions on how to accomplish this task.

Drum and error light are on - got new cartridge - installed as directed - blue light will not stay on - printer will not print - red and orange lights will not go out
I can't recall the buttons on Brother laser printers but leaving the cartridge door open and pressing and holding down one of the buttons for about 5 seconds will clear the drum light error.

I've done this to clear the same error on aBrother HL5250DN laser printer.

If this doesn't work please post your printer's model number.

Toner light on but it is not out of toner, printer will not print, HELP!
How do you know it's not out of toner? Is it a new cartridge? There could still be some toner in the cartridge, but this printer calls to 'add toner' when a specific page count is reached, regardless of the toner level. Don't you love it?
