By dimensions do you mean the physical size or the capacity in BTUH? you should get a machine that will fit in your window and if the A/C cooled the room ok get one that matches the BTUH output.

Just measure width and height of what you can see at the front. They are all standard sizes for built in units. Your installer will make it fit the framing at the back.

What are the dimensions of the Jenn-Air M170 built-in Microwave Oven (built 1998) that I need to specify for a replacement unit? Externally, I see the frame measuring 26 3/4" W by 17" H, and the unit within the frame measuring 22" W by 13" H.

Hi, your machine is long out of production and installation instructions usually come with the machine and are not published. you have a standard size 24" built in machine, and most 24" machines will fit the space. I would click on Jenn Air or call 1-800-JENN-AIR (536-6247) and ask for a replacement recommendation and a copy of old installation instructions for planning with designer or installer. They have access to records if anyone does and an interest in serving you. Alternatively, talk to another seller and discuss installation. they will also want to help. Let me know if I can help further.ed
If this unit installs in a cabinet, replace it with like outside dimensions Make sure that there is space for air circulation. Measure and multiply the three cavity dimensions (in inches) together, then divide by 1,728 to get cubic feet. Hope this helps!
