Dennis the F9 indicates the door lock switch has not positioned correctly. By what you are describing it sounds like the lock mechanism did not pull the door in tight for the cleaning resulting in the code. It's possible it could be a pinched wire on the locking mech. What needs to be done here is that someone has to examine the door lock mechanism to insure it's operating correctly. The door should be pulled tight and the switch sould be closed on the cam. F9 error code on GE ovens is usually caused by a problem in the door lock/latch system for the self clean. You state it happens about 2 hrs into the clean cycle. My guess is the the control is not sensing that the door is actually locked. Could be several reasons. Bad door lock motor, Bad switch that senses the door is latched, or is some cases the main control board could have a problem and is just not reading the door is locked. You need someone with the right knowledge to trouble shoot which part is actually bad since it could several different problems.
F9 code is a door latch error code. Either the latch motor or latch didn't get reset. Check the wiring to the latch motor and make sure everything is connected. Also try flipping the breaker and leaving it off for five or ten minutes, see if it might reset itself. If that doesn't work, you can have a latch motor gone bad, a harness issue, or possibly an electronic board that has shorted during the cleaning or operation programs.
Hello,F9 error means there is a problem with the lock switch.Check the wiring to the door lock switch (the wire harness may be connected wrongly).Check for stuck lock switch. Thanks
The F9 code indicates there is a problem with the door lock.
Try disconnecting the power to the range for 10 seconds and reconnecting. Open the oven door and hold the door switch plunger in while you try these things. Put the control into clean for 5 minutes then cancel clean. You must hold the door switch plunger in for the 5 minutes.
Try canceling the clean cycle without putting the control into clean.
