VGN- FS740/W I have recently recovered my laptop (instal new windoes by vaio recovery cd) and then my sounds doesn't work I mean is shaking the sound is played like robots I don't know what to do. I uninstaled and reintaled the audio driver (Realtek® High Definition) over and over again but the problem still exists. I confused because after 1 day I turned on the laptop and then the modem was gone i mean there is nothing as modem on my laptop and the windows is not possible to detect any hardware as modem on it. Please help me. what happened to my laptop. regards. Y.S
The sound has been horrible. It drags, and sounds like it is skipping. Any audio playback via Cd, mp3, or video, video via internet, Youtube, etc. All forms of audio and video drag, pause, and sound like a CD player that needs to be cleaned. Changing volume control settings, adding RAM both give zero improvement. It came this way out of the box. Viewing windows task manager shows that the system CPU usage skyrockets during any audio or video playback and almost freezes the system. The sound has been horrible. Sony VAIO VGN-FS740/W PC Notebook Original Hard Drive Specification is 80GB, 4200rpm Ultra ATA (IDE Interface) Please refer to Sony Official Documentation for more details (if required).
Sony does not offer the recovery dvd for download. You can actually burn yourself a repair disc, which you then can use to reinstall the OS.
Just follow the instructions here http://www.istartedsomething.com/20070929/vista-sp1-recovery-disc/ for your project.
But don't forget to back up your personal data first, otherwise it will be lost for good.
Try to insert the CD from VAIO that came with your purchase package. The CD shoul have the Driver for your soundCard. Try to run and install the soundCard Driver. Or perhaps it just an accidentally you put your MUTE button on Speaker? Try to remove the check-mark on the Volume button on your Windows.
Good-Luck!
