The blades on this cub cadet are activated with air pressure. Chances are that when you hit that stump, you either blew a fuse or the control module that allows the blades to spin. Begin by checking the fuses. J.

Why aren't the blades engaging all the time?

Faulty connection or partially broken wire, from ignition to blade engage switch or from engage switch to electric clutch.

How do I find year model on Cub Cadet rzt 50

The Manufacturers Serial and model numbers should be on a plate under the seat. Go to the Cub Cadet Website navigate to Manuals, enter the Serial/Model numbers and the year of manufacture should pop up.

Cub cadet rzt 50 pto will not fully engage

Lower the cutting deck as far as you can to give a little extra room. Manually check the pulley system for the PTO by wriggling the pulleys. If they have any "play" in them, a bearing has most likely been damaged. Too much "play" would indicate the hole has been wallowed out (no longer perfectly round). If the pulley system checks out to be okay, the impact with the log may have simply stretched the drive belt ( the least costly of scenarios.)

Pto blows the fuse everytime i engage it on my rzt 50 cub cadet mower.

Wire harness for the PTO on the RZT's is designed dangerously near the drive pulley. After time, the harness drops and comes in contact with the pulley which grinds through the coating and shorts out the circuit. Repair (tape up) the wiring, relocate the the wire to the opposite side of the crank pulley (may have to zip-tie in place) - shouldn't be a problem anymore.

My Cub Cadet i1042 tractor shuts off when the blade is engaged. This happened after I ran over a ***** and/or stump. Every time I try to engage the blade the engine shuts off.

Check for bent blade against deck housing.Possible you bent something on mowing deck, check all spindles and pulleys. You could have something hung on blade and making contact with deck. Rarely will the motor be hurt from hitting object on rider.

My rzt 50 series cub cadet zero turn mower slows down with blades engaged?? one of the wires is missing on saftey switch under seat . where does the wires connect to??

The saftey wires wont cause it to slow down.Thats more of a fuel problem.Check the carb remove and clean the float chamber. Also check advance and ****** springs are still in good working order on carb.
