My HTR-6060 plays through the tuner and dvd but not the DTV/CBL

My HTR-6060 plays through the tuner and dvd settings without a problem, but wen I try to play sound through the tv in the DTV/CBL mode I get no sound. This wasn't happening up until recently and I don't understand why it just started to happen. I have HDMI cords set up in the back and I have tested them all individually and they work. Why don't the DTV/CBLsetting?

Digital settings need to be assigned by the receiver in the ption Menu >> Audio Select.

Check the one for the HDMI from DTV/CBL.

Unable to get surround sound thru all speakers

Some features do not give surround sound such as tuner. If input cables attached to analog dtv/cbl and speaker cables attached to wire end output serround should work fine when set to dtvcbl on front display.

When listening to the fm tuner on my yamaha htr 6060, will all 7 speakers still make sound? i' having trouble getting sound from the other speaker connections other than the L and R front connection.

analog fm is broadcast in stereo you would need to use a simulated surround setting to have sound come out of your rear and mid surround speakers.
your manual says the default setting for fm broadcast is:
Radio Listening TUNER MUSIC ENHANCER
7ch Enhancer
Select this SCENE template when you enjoy FM or AM
radio programs.
make sure you unit is not in straight mode try pushing the straight button on the front of the receiver let us know if more troubleshooting is needed.

Cheers!

Yamaha HTR-5750 no sound when I turn to the DTV/Cable setting

If you are not getting sound on "Any" input except "multi channel" you have a bad DSP chip in the receiver. In short, you need a new receiver, it's a 500.00 repair. If you get sound on "All" inputs except "DTV/CBL" You need to get into the main menu of the Yamaha and select audio, toggle to input, then DTV/CBL and select "Auto". If you still do not get audio, it would be due to the version of HDMI software in your receiver. If it's under warranty, Yamaha will update hardware and software for you at N/C. If it's out of warranty, use digital coaxial or optical as your audio input for TV and run your HDMI directly to the TV. (The repair for this too would run 250-350) I hope I've covered all the possibilities. If you need further help, post a comment and I can help you more.

No sound from the speakers when we use DVD or XBox

Take the remote and press theDVD button. That will change the sound system from TV to your DVD. When you switch back to TV, dont forget to switch this back by pressing DTV/CBL white button

1 front speaker and 1 surround speaker won't work on cable selection

theres probably a problem with the right channel cable or plug that connects the tv to the reciever, or the tv is set to mono audio.

Sound

I'm assuming you you have a basic TV to receiver hookup. Make sure you have the TV audio video output going to the receiver input.
