i had the same problem and i bought the new remote control and it did work at first i thought it was going to do the same thing but then i pushed the tv/use button and it worked perfectly.

power board replacement a burnt circuit is visible upon opening unit and removing the power board.

There are several pcb's that can cause this. Ihave found that the Z sustain pcb is the most common one though.

Don't have an eeprom chip except the one that I removed when the upgrade kit was installed. However it was working fine. My problem was the Z-SUS board. If your chip is burnt and you'd like the one I have, I'll be happy to send it to you. I suggest though that you do get the kit on order or it's going to continue to be a pain in the a--!

If the Video (Picture/Pix) is gone but you can hear the Audio (sound), then it could mean the YSUS PCB Assembly is gone/kaput/finish. Can replace the PCB, not repair the PCB due to timing circuitry involve. Cost maybe roughly $500 depending where you located. The PCB is located on the left hand side of your TV when you are facing the back (Back open). Might find 3-4 brown flex membrane connecting to the plasma panel. The PCB has a silver or black aluminum heatsink (big) on it.
