I put a new print cartridge in my seldom-used HP PSC 1510 all-in-one printer. Now, no matter what I do, it prints a test page before every print job. How do I get it to STOP???

may be you chaged the catridge. It is not the test page it is alignment test page just put the printed alignment test page paper on scanner glass and press the scan button to complete the process. It is alignment process which is printer is doing for self testing after installing new cartridge. Just finish the process. Hope this helps. Please rate my response. Thanks. Have a good day.
you have to print test page then alin the page up withthe bars and letters, you have to do this each time you put in a new cartridge, use he menu key to aline the keys.
It was a "refilled" cartridge and not a new cartridge. For some reason the refilled cartridge was empty after being filled recently. Not sure why or how. A new replacement cartridge fixed the problem.
For completing alignment both print cartridges need print in good quality. After the alignment page is printing put it on the scanner glass to way as shown on the page and press scan button. If not help replace the cartridges and try again.
yes, when you get test page face down the page on sccaner and press scan button after some time you get green light still, further u don't get test page again.
I used to have the same problem with the 1510 and other HP models. The solution is not to have any paper in the tray when you turn it on. When the error flashes up, hold the cancel/resume button (it will be flashing orange on the printer) until all activity ceases in the printer. You can then cancel the message on the PC and load the paper when you are ready to print.
The only way to stop this is to press the cancel button, just as it tries to print the test page.
Various people have said the printer won't align (calibrate) successfully unless both ink cartridges are more than 50% full, and until it aligns successfully, it will continue to print the test page on start-up.
It is a total waste of ink and paper, so remember to hit the cancel button when you turn it on.
