Hi There,

Your Tornado Wide Area vacuum cleaner is actually manufacturered by Powr-Flite. The two companies are sister companies, and owned by the same parent company Tacony.

It sounds like to me that your belt may have broken, or fallen off of the motor shaft. This may explain why the roller brush is not spinning. There is also a reset switch on the machine, on the top (item # 41 in diagram below), you should check the reset switch first. Try pushing down on this switch to see if this will restart your brushes.

If it doesn't, here are instructions on how to open up the belt, and inspect it or replace it if it's broken:

If you need to purchase a new belt, you may contact Powr-Flite at 1-800-880-2913, and request them to send you part number 19802.

Here's links to the instruction manual, and parts diagram for your Tornado, which is the same exact machine as the Powr-Flite model PF2030:

How can I stop the squealing noise in the motor on my Sanitaire wide track commercial vacuum? It's making a squealing the minute I turn it on

Is it the motor or the brush roll? Remove the brush roll and belt and see if it still squeals. If not clean or replace the brush roll and get a new belt. Inspect the fan to insure there is not something stuck in it. If it's the motor you can try to clean it, make sure there is not something stuck in the motor causing the noise.

Agitator wont turn

It could be one or more of a few causes. Easiest to check is the belt and/or brush roll. There are two switches for the brush roll. Both must be working properly. One is by the main power switch and the other is in the motor compartment. If the problem still persists check the brush bar motor in the power nozzle assembly

Dyson dc17 No suction

i have the same problem and none of these solutions help. they are all for if suction works but brush doesn't. that isn't what she is saying. brush motor works fine. It's the Suction motor that never kicks on. Mine is doing it now and I would love a fix for it. Resetting suction motor. Not brush....

Kenmore progressive 360 vacuum cleaner has low suction

Check the tube that leads down to the brush head for clogging as well as any motor or HEPA filters. If that still shows nothing, take the cover off the brush head (like you're changing the belt) and look for obstructions in there. Usually, if you have low suction on the accessory hose, the problem is with a motor filter, HEPA filter, or a clog where the hose goes into the unit. If you have good suction on the accessory hose but none on the floor, it's usually in the brush head (clog or broken belt) Good luck

Cyclone will not spin

Even thought the belt may look fine the belt still can be worn and therefore no turn the brush or the clutch. The belts you need are these here:
