was it working before, or is it a new install, meaning you just bought it and installed it right away? If you just installed it, try rebooting your modem first, then power up your router and give it a try.

My wireless router wont work

You need to (temporarily) hook a computer up to your router using an ethernet cable to set it up properly so you can send out a wireless internet signal with it. To connect to your router with a computer simply open your web browser and type in the router's address in URL web address bar. Consult your router's documentation to determine the exact address for your model. Note that you do not need a working Internet connection for this step.

I have linksys 2.4 ghz + one 12' line. My new computer is in another room, 32 feet from cable modem how do I connect to internet?

I'm assuming that one computer isn't wife enabled. Depending on where the non wifi computer is located in relation to the router, you will need another either patch cable or a wifi adapter.

How to connect my Linksys router with my wi tribe modem?? my laptop pick up the wireless signal and can connect,,it says "connected" but when you open a page it says either "invalid server...

The Linksys Wireless router is fine, but your latop is not configured for DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol). The computer is connected to the router at layer 2, whereas HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), sits
atop the TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) layer, and seems to be trying to
query the ISP's (Internet Service Provider) network for a nameserver (via DNS (Dynamic Name Service) protocol) that doesn't exist on the ISP's network. Configuring the laptop for DHCP and specifying no nameserver will fix this (the ISP's network will dynamically assign a DNS).

Its also possible (though a remote possibility) that your Linksys wifi router may be configured to disallow TCP/IP virtual circuits to/from your computer's IP address - but this is a really advanced
capability of your Linksys wifi router - few know this capability even exists.

Connecting multiple wifi devices to the Linksys router should be no problem, just configure them all to interact with the router using DHCP.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. WIFI not working with Linksys wireless-g broadband router/Comcast

Unplugging the wireless router and connecting it again should not have altered the wireless connection/configuration. You have connected the cables correctly because the Internet works when you connect a LAN cable to the router.
The Linksys wireless configuration or the wireless card configuration in the computer was changed it to lose the wireless connection. The wireless card configuration needs to be changed to match the wireless router's settings or change the Linksys with new configuration settings and configure the wireless card accordingly.
To secure your router with a login password and wireless security, please follow my instructions - click on this link :-

Hi there, you don't need to install from the disk. Make sure your modem connects to your router and then the computer's LAN port is connected to the LAN port of the router. Open internet explorer and in the address line type 192.168.1.1 this will connect you to the router's setup. On older Linksys routers the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin." You then can find the wireless setup to configure your router. Make sure if you use a WEP code you use the same code from your computer's wireless adaptor. Good Luck...
