The head phone jack in the Sherwood receiver has dirty contacts. If the head phones work in another device, that proves there is nothing wrong with them. When phones are plugged in the Sherwood, shows s problem with the receiver. When the head phones are not plugged in and both external speakers come on, it means nothing regarding head phones. Contact cleaner could be used to fix the problem.
sometimes the place where we put the head phone lead gets pushed which gives a false statement that u're using ear/head phone. plug in the ear/head phones n again take the off
i suggest that you should try other head phones. if it is ok the i suggest that you should replace your head phone. If still have the same problem the problem is with your phone jack.
