Xerox XA3-17 makes noise, flashing, than nothing happens.

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2010

Yes, I already changed all the capacitors. It makes a noise, maybe inverter or CFL problem. I heard that this is a common problem of these monitors.

Yes. I got the information that these Xerox monitors have weak CCFLs. They are bad, they make noise.

Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

The noise can be the arching sound from the Lamp assemblies as you can see in my pictures.

Actually the lamps are fine, it is the bad soldering works, they need to be tought how to solder. I see them in all brand of monitors, including the expensive MAC displays.

Xerox 6360dn, Tray 2 makes loud grinding noise when printing. Tray 1 is as quiet as a mouse. Replaced tray 2 with a known good tray and it still makes grinding noise.

In my experience, it was the registration roller causing the grinding noise. See http://my.brainshark.com/Phaser-6300-6350-6360-Grinding-Noise-795590408 for troubleshooting video.
