Issues with turntables picking up speed when trying to time start off. It's hard to match beats when the table does not start on cue or slowly try to catch up to speed. What's wrong with them?

This seems to be a pitch control issue. controller,
replacing \t,could be worn over time,
SL1200 Technics - if you want a solid long lasting excellence of sound reproduction for many years to come,

I had the same pitch control issue,
happened on one of my decks so I replaced the controller and good to go from there,

Another important tip -
never lubricate the controls sliders with any thing apart from the correct greases or oils applied by the manufactuer, most people dont think of the damage caused by the cleaners they use ,some aerosols eat away the fine oil that lubricates the pitch control sliders making them dry and brittle eventually cracking producing odd random performance issues,

hope this helps,cheers Misterdj

Crosley turn table is not spinning. Tried replacing belt and moving cue lever to right then left. Think it might be the arm or cue lever. Does anyone have an idea what the problem is or a solution?

Since it is new, you should probably return for refund or exchange.
My guess would be it is the micro switch controlled by the arm.
Make sure the power is turned on and the unit's function selection is set on PHONO and then gently move the tone arm to the right until you hear a "click". Remove any cassettes that might be in the cassette player. Lift the tone arm and carry it over to the beginning of the record.

Technics SL-220 not turning (although it seems to be trying!)

I'd suggest to unplug it from power for 5 minutes push a couple of times on power button (while unplugged) then plug it back.

The speeds will not match

can you be more precise. At the moment it sounds like you cant beat match. that is not the turntable's fault

Turntables lags on pick up

I have the same exact problem with one of my 1210 MK2 turntables. It seems like the motor is too slow now. When I hit the start button or release the record, it takes much longer to speed up to the normal speed than my other same exact turntable. I don't think it has anything to do with the pitch slider. Please let me know if you find out what the problem is thanks!

Sudden pitch change.

There is a speed control IC inside this unit that could be defective or the speed detect sensors could be faulty. WIthout seeing the actual machine it is hard to tell. This one is a direct drive if memory serves me correctly, so you should not have this kind of drift. With the unit only a year old, I would not expect a motor problem either. Can you tell if the drift is toward higher speed or lower? Or does it vary?

You might have a bad cue motor/ass'y. Did you buy this new, or used? Are you the original owner? Did this just start happening? Have you done anything different (moved the unit, cleaned it, etc) to the unit?

If the cue ass'y is bad, then that would require professional servicing.
