Tv is making a loud buzzing noise and the picture is all funny ie colurs are out and pixelated

presuming it has one two choices: contact Philips (good luck there) or Google the model number with "color wheel"

First. The whirring or buzzing sound you hear is the Color Wheel and it needs to be replaced. Second, since I do not know when and if the original lamp has been replaced it is a good idea to replaced the lamp. The bad Color Wheel is the one causing the set to shut down.

It sound like you may have sound processor problem which is part of the main board, I would also look at the 12vdc from power supply to make sure it is clean DC.

Sounds like your color wheel is failing they make a loud sqeauling noise when they begin to fail.Run you somewhere around $300-400 to have a tech repair it.

this can happen with the flyback transformer's brightness which can be adjusted , also the power transformer can make humming or buzzing sounds which can't be adjusted , also this can happen with the picture tube or the CRT board failing , and sometimes chips with heat sinks or the IC's themselfs

Sounds like the cooling fan blades are hitting something (possible worn bearings).
