When was the last time you updated the QuickFix of your TomTom? It helps your GPS to find the satellites.
Please, do the following:
1) Install "TomTom Home" software in your computer from www.tomtom.com
2) Start TomTom Home in your computer
3) Plug in the GPS dock to your computer's USB port and place the GPS on the dock. The green light on the bottom right of the GPS should turn ON to indicate that the GPS is getting power from the dock and charging
4) Start your GPS while being in the dock. If the GPS asks "do you want to connect to computer" answer "YES"
5) The TomTom Home software will detect the GPS and check if there are any updates for it. Then you'll be offered updates to install. Some are free, some are not. Be sure you choose to update "QuickFix".
Please, report back if you need further assistance

hi you need to reset the unit at the back near the connection there is a small button that needs to be held down when holding the power button on for a few seconds. once you have done this turn it on and it will work fine

First thing ensure that the TomTom is fullly charged using the home charger.
Press the small reset button on the base (700) or do a factory reset.
The other thing to try is tap the GPS signal bars to go to the configure and check in the top right hand corner there is a circle with yellow and black esgments if this is moving then your TomTom is looking for a signal. Move around and you should find that the bars at the bottom will start to move and the small screen on the right will start to indicate circles. When the bars start to move you are getting GPS signals when the bars change to blue there you have a coordination for your position. Some areas are worse than others so move out of your house if after doing above does not get a signal

Turn on your tt and let it bootup. After it has booted up go to the map screen. On the bottom right where the bars are for satellite reception. Tap the bars this will take you to the screen telling you the device code etc. On the upper far right where the battery icon is tap the screen again. This will take you to a screen showing the satellites. If you see grey bars on the graph just wait awhile. Sometimes when your tt has not been turned on for awhile or you have turned it on after traveling a few miles it may take up to 30 minutes to get a lock.
Hope this helps
