I have a Samsung LNT4665FX with screen problems. I have replaced two caps on the PSB and got the tv to turn on. Now the screen will have lines in it, and then go dark. The backlight is still illuminated when the screen does this. I tried to reflow solder on the main BGA chip on the main Audio/ video driver board. No luck. Replaced the main Audio/ Video board with a new one. Still no luck. Could it be the LCD controller board? I don't know what else would cause this? What should I be looking at now, knowing the power supply board is ok and the main audio/ video board is ok? Thanks

You will need to replace the complete board.

I'm willing to bet you have faulty capacitors in the power supply. You can either have the individual capacitors replaced(cheap fix) or replace the power supply board. This is my best guest as this model is known for this problem. If you don't feel comfortable in opening up your set, get a professional to look it over

your start-up problem is in the power supply , open the set up look for capacitors that have a bulge in the top replace them and its fixed

The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional $$$$$$$??????? (Is it under warranty?)

Remember, TVs CONTAIN HIGH VOLTAGE AND CAN KILL YOU! Do this at your own risk.

2. Open your TV and find PSB. (The board that the power cord plugs into) Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board. The entire board costs around $250 right now because they are in high demand right now. They can be found online. I would definitely shop around though.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

Howdy,
It would be a lot cheaper if you just replace the two caps that have gone bad. Just get a cheap solder pencil from the store and about an inch of solder and you are in business.
The Power Supply Board is the center Board (towards left) after you remove the back off the TV. Remove Board from TV with the 6-7 screws. Replace capacitors CM852 & CM853; 2200ufd 25volts.
