I have a CP-x2010 N Hitachi projector and yesterday when I tried to turn it on it started out green but the fan kept making noise like it couldn't start up all the way. A red light came on for the power and temp. I completely turned it off and unplugged it, I tried turning it back on today but it did the same thing. I wasn't sure if this was the bulb or if it is some fan in it but is there any way I can fix this withought having to hire someone to come and replace it?

The cooling fan can be lubricated by peeling off the round label. If the motor shaft can be seen, use a drop of sewing machine oil on the shaft. If you can't see the shaft, there is a rubber plug covering it. Use something sharp to remove it then put a drop of oil on it. This is not a permanent fix, so order a new fan and replace it when you get it.

If both lights are flashing orange, that means that the bulb needs to be replaced and the filter needs to be cleaned. Make sure you reset the counters for both after you replace them.

hi there,
I have just done the exact same thing today. Press menu button on projector. Scroll (navigate) to the mirror option. This give you the options to mirror image left to right or up and down.
This should fix any of your problems.
Cheers

Hi there

In your Menu options there is a subfolder where it either reads lamp or lamp timer.

Scroll down to it and hold down you right or left arrow key on the Projector for a couple of seconds.

SOURCE: hitachi projector temp light

This is what your projector's user manual says about a flashing "TEMP" light :

"The cooling fan is not operating. Turn the power OFF and wait approximately 20 minutes. After the main unit has cooled down, please make confirmation that no foreign matter has become caught in the fan, etc. After performing any needed maintenance, turn the power ON again; if the same display is displayed, then please contact a sales store or a service company."

Lamp turns-on and off

lamp ballast and/or power supply is going. the ballast has to boost the charge up to 140 vdc, and after it's up to it full strength, it drops down to 40vdc to maintain. if the ballast can't get up to the proper voltage, it shuts down. or the lamp itself will not hold the voltage, and therefore needs replacing.
