Hey scoob,
I have 3 of these players in my home and every time there is a problem with them we find that if we HOLD the power button in and keep it in until it shuts off (while the button is still pressed)... can take a full minute or more, it seems to reset any problems we have encountered.
worth a try
I just got an e260 today and had the same problem. When I originally turned it on the Hold was in the 'locked' position. From there on out the screen has been black. When it was plugged in nothing happened either.
The Solution? Hold the power button for about 20 or so seconds. The manual doesn't tell you about it, but that's how you completely shut the sansa down altogether. Yes, the manual says it's also a reset button but it isn't mentioned how you actually use it.
Once you hold that button down long enough it should completely shut down and restart.
When I press the power button, it comes on, Shows the SanDisk logo, then says, "key locked" "system shutdown". What do I do?
