I had the same problem myself. After nearly 40 mins of trying and trying the Wii fit board eventually synchronized with out the Wii remotes being affected. The main thing is to make sure you do not hold down the red button on Wii console for more than 10 seconds as this unsyns the remotes. Hope this helps
Make sure that you have synced the board to the wii (similar to a controller). You have to take the battery cover off the board and push the sync button. The blue light will start flashing. From there you need to open the front cover of your wii under the power button.
From there you start up wii fit and it will prompt you to turn on your board. You should get a solid blue light. If you don't, you may need to try syncing again.
Unplug the AC adapter on your console out of the Power cord then wait 15 min and plug it back again.Open the front cover on your Wii, then push the red button there, then open the batteries cover on your Wii Fit and push the red button there. If this not help press and hold the red button on your Wii for 20 seconds. This will clear all synced Wii Remotes from the console. Then repeat the procedure again. In this case you need to SYNC your Wii Remote too.If this not help your Wii Fit may need service.
Re sinc it.Open the front cover on your Wii and push the red button there, then
open the batteries cover on your Wii fit and push the red button
there. If this not help Open thre front cover on your Wii and push and hold the red button for 20 seconds. This will clear all sync devices. Now try again to sinc Wii fit.In this case you need to sinc your WII Remote/s again too.If and this not help may your Wii fit need service.
Make sure you are trying to sync it when the Wii Fit game asks you to. It will say "place you wii fit board on the floor and turn it on" or something like that. and then when it asks you, turn it on, and it should sync.
otherwise, try it on another wii if you can... if it works on another wii then its your wii.. if it doesnt work on another wii then it is you Wii Fit Board.
You need to sync the balance board with the console. Instructions are in the manual. Sync button for board is in battery compartment and sync button for console is in panel under reset button.
Took a few tries for me, be carefule not to hold sync button on console down for longer than 10 seconds because it will deregister all wii remotes.
Insert a Wii Balance Board compatible game disc in the Wii console.
Use
the Wii Remote to select the Disc Channel from the Wii Menu, then
select "Start" to begin the game. Press the A Button to bypass the
wrist strap screen.
Open the small SD Card slot cover on the front of the Wii console.
Remove the Battery Cover on the bottom of the Wii Balance Board.
Press and release the SYNC button on the Wii Balance Board. The blue light on the board will start blinking.
Press and release the red SYNC button on the Wii console while the blue light on the board is still blinking.
The blue light will stop blinking and stay on steady once the syncronization is complete.
