My tweeters do not give sound

I have a mtx thunder 5601 class d, mono-block amplifier. The left and right a/c jacks are wired to a high to low level hl15 profile converter, then to the tweeters.Everything else in the stero sytem works fine, but no sound out of tweeters.I would really appreciate any diagnostic tips or a way to rewire the speakers.

I wired the speakers stait from the radio, they played but at very low volume.Disconecting the a/c jacks made the amp quit powering the subwoofers.

Dude, do you know what mono-block represents? Mono-block is a bass ONLY amplifier (in some case they aren't, but in this case it is). The 5601 was created for the sole intent of powering subwoofer(s). That is all. The amplifer only has output between 20HZ and 200HZ hence no high range at all. Just run the tweeters to the front speaker channels on the radio

Need to know how to wire my system ...I have the infinity reference series 611a I was told it was a mono block but it has two channels on the exterrior...also I have two 12 inch MTX thunder dual voice coil...

it all depends on what kind of box the mtx subs are in as far as wiring the subs. The best way would be take the speaker wire from both sub boxes and run the positive into the right positive then the negative into the left negative. and run 8 gauge wiring kit to the amp because 10 might be to small and 4 is to big 8 gauge is perfect for this amp.

Is it bridgeable

yes you can bridge this amp to one channel
here are the specs for the amp
  • stereo or bridged mono output
  • Tri-way capable (Tri-Way crossover required)
  • 100 watts x 2 at 2 ohms
  • 200 watts x 1 in bridged mode
  • requires 10-gauge power and ground leads — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
  • PWM MOSFET switching power supply
  • Intelligent Surface Mount Technology for cleaner sound and greater reliability
  • selectable 85 Hz high-pass/low-pass crossovers, 18 dB/octave
  • preamp outputs
  • speaker-level inputs with SmartEngage (turns the amp on when it detects signal from the receiver, eliminating the need for a separate turn-on lead from your receiver)
  • 9-3/4"W x 2-1/8"H x 9-3/4"D

MTX Thunder 81001 wont push subs

first of all you should check the minimal impedance your amp handles , if is class d it should handle between 1-2 ohms total impedance in a mono conection , meaning whatever quantity of subs you have hooked to your amplifier, their total impedance should the minimum the amp handles that way all the power from your amplifier will be used.

Has mtx stop selling the mtx ta81001?

    Hello t3h_b,

The MTX web site shows the amp as a current product.

http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/ sells the amp and claims to have it in stock. However, MTX lists only 2 authorized online resellers:
    www.crutchfield.com and www.sonicelectronix.com

Crutchfield doesn't list the amp at all and SonicElectronix shows it as "discontinued". I'd recommend going to MTX's contact page and ask them directly. They'll usually respond within a day or two.

    Hope this helps.

THUNDER 5601 WHEN VEHICLE TURNED ON, SUBS BOOM, THEN WORKS OK. ALSO WHEN RADIO TURNED OFF

If the amp produces no boom with no signal input cables connected, I'd suggest using an LOC.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Mtx blue thunder pro3002

Take this apart and look at the magnet wire windings look for any thing broke or burnt. If not it is very likely it is more cost effective to buy new.
