Had to format memory card what do i need to run r4 and memorycard

Stuck on Loading Screen This usually indicates that the software kernel on the micro sd memory card has become corrupted. It can also happen if the micro sd memory card is overloaded with games, music and video files etc. The solution is to reinstall the kernel software on the micro sd card and ensure the micro sd memory card is not overloaded. Leave about 25% memory free.
download SDformatter and format the sd card with that, place all the files on there, none in folders..

• Download the correct software kernel from the manufacturers website
• Unzip the files using a suitable programme such as Win Zip or 7 Zip.
• Open the folder containing the unzipped files and copy the 4 files (Moonmemo, Moonshl2, R4iMenu and R4.dat) to the root of the memory card.
• At this point put the memory card into your R4 card. Start your console and ensure the R4 card is operating correctly.
• You may have to run an upgrade file at this point

It must be damaged or has corrupted files. Please use a card reader and transfrer everything to your computer then format your memorycard using your camera.

It might be due to a bad contact of the placed memorycard.

1. Pull the memorycard out and in the camera several times and retry.
2. If not OK, format the card in the camera. If that does not work, format it in the computer.
3. Try another memorycard and recheck.

Get the memory card out of your R4 adaptor, putt it into a card reader.
Connect the card reader to your pc and goto Start/run.

Run this command: chkdsk /x /f /r x:

Putt for "x:" the drive letter where your card reader is at.

If the file system is repaired download the newest R4 Kernel and unpack it to your memory card, use 7zip, this software is free
and handles zip and rar files + many other types.

Use safe removal to disconnect your card reader, so that the file system at the memory
card wont get damaged.

If this wont work, you'll have to format your memory card using fat32 and unpack afterwards
the kernel files to the memory card.

To format goto start/run and use this command: Format x:

"x:" Is again the drive letter where your card reader is at.

Hi I was having the same problem but now I have fixed it. My dsi is running version 1.4 and I have a R4i GOLDwhich is now running 1.54 with the r4i update that I got from this web site.

You need to load them onto your memory card and then put it in a ds or ds lite and run the update. Hope it helps its worked for me 5 times so far on different r4i gold cards.

you have to format ur SD card and download the software from the original R4 website, nowhere else, it'll work then!

To format any drive just insert the memory, right click over your memory drive in My PC window, and there should be an option to Format this drive, formatting will erase all the card contents so make a backup in your computer first.

When you click on "format" a window will appear to chose FAT or FAT32 (try FAT32 first then if not working try FAT), dont have to do nothing on the size option, write a label for the drive if you want, not needed, let Quick Format clear, click on start button and you'll see a proccess bar, when it finish it tell you and you have a formatted drive.

Put the sistem files and one rom to test again in the memory, test it on your DS. Be sure you have the right files for your card, the www.R4ds.cn site only supports R4 cards, not R4 III, R4 SDHC or any fake non R4 hardware.
