    dryer wont stay hot but ignightor glows when started

    same problem for a Kenmore. The ignitor starts up and the burner starts then shuts dowm for 30-40 seconds then start back up for 15-20 seconds then shuts down again and keeps cycling through this process.

Check the exhaust to see if it is clogged. If not, you may need a pair of gas valve coils (not very hard.)
Replace the coils if you see the ignitor glow and shut off, without the gas valve opening up.

Maytag dryer will heat up the first time but not again. Igniter goes on but doesnt light.
Replace both valve coils. They will open the valve the first time, but when they get hot, they become intermittent at best.
