I am changing from 460 V to 230 V on a Ingersol Rand Compressor motor # 32036006 and I cant get it to start it turns real slow is this supposed to have some sort of a motor starter capicitor set up ?

    Just checking but did you re-wire the motor for low voltage?

Recheck the way you have the motor leads hooked up, make sure they are correct. You did re connect the motor leads didnt you? You are not trying to run it on 230v single phase are you? Assuming it is a dual voltage motor, the leads will have to be re connected from hi voltage to lo voltage. Also when you cut the operating voltage in half the operating current(amps ) will double, all this info should be on the motor name plate. This motor does not use a capicitor to start it

To convert your T-30 to single phase you will have to do one of two things.
1. Change the motor to a single phase motor
2. Buy and install a "Phase Converter" to convert 3 phase to single phase

I have a Ingersoll Rand P185 WJD air compressor and I need to know the type and quantity of oil to use.

Do not use 30 wt oil. It will wreak the oil/air seperator filter. Use Ingersoll Rand Pro-Tec fluid. It will hold approx 3 gallons.
