Need the wiring diagram for capacitors on a IR
Hi my name is Luke and I bought a Ingersoll-Rand 7.5 compressor and won’t start. I noticed it has a wire not connected on the capacitors it’s a blue wire that reads t5 v3 there’s a capacitor with open prong before two start caps and another capacitor after the two start caps , at least that’s what it reads on caps unless they have been wired wrong , being that I would think the start up caps should be wired first from powers supply box , want to know where it went Before I went trying to change capacitors and there’s 5 here’s a pic
Mix oil and water on motor
Ok, sounds like you are having water vapor condense in your crankcase, must be pretty humid where you are.1- Make sure the crankcase has a vent on it somewhere.2- Be sure you are running the compressor long enough to get the oil hot enough to evaporate any water that does get in there. If the compressor is over sized and just runs a few times a day it may not run long enough to flash off the water that does collect.3- That unit looks pretty big if you sized it to spray paint with it may be way too big for your normal shop use (see 2 above).
The compressor is not loading i.e running
first of all check power comming to the solenoid valve ,if not check the contacta at the contactor box.If yes, with a multimeter check the resistance of solenoid coil.If ok,the mechanical part of the solenoid is not working, better change the solenoid valve then.
Leaking air
When the Pressure switch shuts off, the little air valve in the pressure switch vents the copper line from the compressor, to blead the pressure from the compressor so it's easier to start the next time. If it continues to leak, the check valve between compressor and tank must not be holding.
When the air compresor turns on the first time it
the switch on most air compressors have a low start and stop rating most run at 90psi low and 120 to 130psi off depending on your unit. if you turn on your unit and if it humens, than check the pressure valve mounted on the tank at the end of your feed line. if no humming check your switch
Compressor stops then leaks down to low setting
That little copper line is an unloading line, to bleed compressed air out of the compressor head so that the motor can more easily start the compressor. Pressor switch should be threadded into top of air tank, and the unloading valve is built into the side of the switch. When the tank reaches the high pressure setting the switch disconnects power to the motor and opens the unloading valve at the same time. The unloading valve should be connected to the compressor discharge line through a check valve with an unloading valve port upstream of the check valve. These valves are usually threaded into the top of the air tank as well. Sounds to me like your valve was leaking and someone bypassed it.
Air dryer. Why is new compressor running hot?
There are several reasons for a compressor to run too hot, including high compression ratio, high return gas temperatures, and lack of external cooling. High compression ratios are the result of either lower than normal suction pressures or higher than normal discharge pressures.
