I am thinking it maybe a switch. I had a problem a couple of years ago where the light would not shut off, I thought it was just the light, I am very sure the procedure was done correctly. Try putting it back in self clean. Listen to see if it locks. then cancel the self clean. It could be the self clean lock motor has gone bad. The lock hook can be moved to unlock the door by inserting a stiff wire like a coat hanger between the door and the oven and moving the latch over to unlock the door.
i had a similar prob with my ford explorer, i took drivers door panel loose and sprayed all the contact switches with a non-combustible,plastic safe cleaner, let it dry, then sprayed with electrical lubricant also (non-combustible) hope this helps!!
Hi, Seems like you found out the hard way what I wrote about in this tip... Check it out it also contains some thing to try on how to unlock that oven..
Is the door hitting the door lock hook. Or a strike pin hitting the inside door panel. If this is a self cleaning range the door seal is a metal mesh and does hold the door slightly away, this is normal. More info ?
After pressing Self Clean, Adjusting the Time and Pressing Start, the self cleaning cycle shows the # F57_ on the read-out. I tried to cancel and now the door opens, but I can't get the Bake to begin when I press Start. No matter what I press LOC flashes on and off, but the door is unlocked and the heat is off. Please help! Susan, PR
Can you locate the model number on the oven? Also any particular name of the stove? The manufactured year. These should all be available on a stainless steel or aluminum attached plate , probably on the back of the stove or inside the door.
I wouldn't try using the self cleaning feature until we get some advice. it could lock up on you and not UNLOCK. Normally self cleaning takes place at 600 or more degrees .
I'm sure others still have the same stove., I will see what I can find for you.
Door will not lock
