I have a 945GCT - HM motherboard, and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 Video card. I am trying to get SPDIF out (S/PDIF Out) to my video card, so I can have audio with the HDMI output like it's supposed to have. I found a spot on the motherboard that says "SPDIF out" but there are no pins, just solder spots. If I carefully solder it on there, will it work? Also, there is a "HD_Audio" next to it (about 10 pins) Which I don't think will do what I want?

Before doing anything please refer the motherboard manual, and as per my knowledge you need not solder any pin on the board, if you do so may be something else might not work. I better suggest you to check the Manual before doing anything.

insert the card into the pci slot on you motherboard turn your computer on the found new hardware should activate and ask you to install the drivers/software for it
