Amana Freezer DeepFreeze AFU2067BW 19.6 Cu. Ft. ice in bottom

The freezer has the drain plug that comes out the bottom into a drain pan. Currently the water/ice is coming out of the back of the inside of the freezer and pooling in the bottom. It runs down and freezes from the area in the back of the inside of the freezer where there is an opening. Have already cleaned the drain plug from the bottom up to where I could reach, does the back of the inside of the freezer need to come off.. is it froze at the condensor?

Hi,
Here is a tip that will tell you where the water is coming from and how to fix it. The drain hole has froze shut and the water from the defrost will not drain out.

Freezer not uniformly cold

Check the fan vent to see it's not blocked or frozen. Sometimes a defrost will clear ice temporarily, but it will happen again if you have a bad fan.

Why is there ice build-up on the bottom shelf on an automatic defrost freezer?

It sounds like unit is not properly going into defrost or your evaporator fan motor is starting to go bad

Ice keeps forming on the bottom of the freezer - like a leak on the back side flows into the bottom toward the door.

When a refrigerator leaks water like yours, it is common for the problem to be nothing more than a clogged defrost drain. When the unit defrosts itself, the frost melt water drips into a pan underneath the evaporator in the freezer, and goes through a tube from there to the bottom outside of the unit. Since the water cant go down this drain, it backs up on the freezer floor, then eventually the kitchen floor.

Check out this tip that I wrote about that... it is a great place to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

Self defrosting deep freeze not defrosting

The excess frost in those areas is probably caused by leaky door gasket seals. They should be tight enough to hold a dollar bill securely all the way around. A defrost problem would start on the coils behind the back cover inside the freezer and would also appear on the back wall before it did on the door edges.

Check the defrost timer, rotate it until a solid click is heard. If your unit starts to work replace that timer. Good Luck
