Just try Wondershare Video Converter Platinum, it could convert AVCHD to mkv or other video format your Final cad express.

Final Cut Pro X Review-No Log and Capture or Log and Transfer?

The newly released Final Cut Pro X is now a hot topic, especially among the FCP 7 or 6 users. The UI of FCP X is different from the older versions. The style change is somewhat like how Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 differs from the older versions. In the other words, it is from grey to black. Of course, Adobe Premiere Pro is different form FCP.

How would FCP X change the video editing on Mac?

- No Log and Capture , Log and Transfer:
With FCP 7 or below, the Log and Capture option is to import tape-based videos, while the Log and Transfer option is for file-based camcorder videos. If you have mini-dv like Sony HDR-FX1S, you may need another tool to capture and save videos as a file, and then import to FCPX.

For videos from file-based camcorders, the process is like working with iMovie. The Camera Import window should pop up when camera is connected to Mac for you to select clips. Then click Import Selected, or the like button to load videos. Even though FCP X is supposed to import AVCHD files in .mts or .m2ts format, there are still users reporting the problem. If that is the case for you, you may need to transcode AVCHD to QuickTime MOV for FCP. Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac would help you make the videos compatible to FCP X.

If you use Canon XF100 to shoot videos in .mxf format, or other camcorders with MXF files, just try Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac to see if it works for your .mxf video footage.

- No transcoding to ProRes:
As it is known that the videos imported via Log and Transfer would be transcoded to Apple ProRes. User should wait for the transcoding before editing. It is said that Final Cut Pro X would grant you access to your material right away, saving a lot of time.

Actually, there is also timeline for editing in FCP X. But the layout is different from the previous versions. The audio would be snapped to the video. You may find out more interesting features and get used to it.

Migrating XP to Windows 7 (Using your Network)

If you are thinking of buying a new PC and trying to replace an old XP system to a new Windows 7, you might want to transfer your old favorite files to your new computer. Either transferring through a Easy Transfer cable, Network, or via USB

This procedures assumes that your old XP is still working and connected to your home or office network. and your new Win 7 is also connected as well to your networkBoth of your system and computer must be connected to the same network, either in the office or home, because it is easier to transfer files in this way, effectively and efficiently, this is practical than using USB flash drive or any external disk, though the process is similar.

Ensure that you have the Win7 InstallationDVD, or the Easy Transfer Software fromMicrosoft website, ready to be installed on your XP system. but be aware this is for 64 bit version system only, please visit Microsoft website search and download Windows easy Transfer and select "x86" in the file name for 32 bit or 64 bit, install this the same way you've done with ordinary software. In your Win 7 however, this software is automatically installed so do not bother yourself.

In this instance you will be asked if whether you want to transfer your whole data from all user accounts or to just specific user only, in this process you can also select specific files to transfer, but in order to transfer all accounts, both of your XP and WIN 7 must be logged as an Administrator.

So this procedure is Migrating through NETWORK, the other two procedure is Easy Cable Transfer and USB, external Hard disk.

5e79a5b.jpg
1- Prepare both systems and ensure both are connected to the network and working, Start the XP computer and log in as an Admin
2- IN XP , Open up the and start the Windows Easy Transfer DVD, and look or browse for SupportMigwiz. if you have downloaded this simply select Start> All Program> Windows Easy Transfer for Win 7, it will load automatically. Simply read the screen for additional info and click Next
3- A new screen pops out and please select a Network as an option to transfer
4- Click This is my OLD COMPUTER, Still in XP Windows Easy Transfer will then generate a password for the transferring process, because in order to transfer files through the network you will be required to enter a password (record the KEY)

caae297.jpg

After you enter the key, at this time Windows Easy Transfer makes the connection and scans the Windows XP system's contents and components. Once this is over, you can practically choose which data you want to transfer, or you want to import, just like customizing the items you wish to transfer. After you have decided which is which, click Transfer, then a progress bar will appears the process occurs.

The final screen will then show up indicating the process is complete. Confirm to see if the file you have chosen was actually transferred, then close all window, including the Easy Transfer Windows.

Restart your computer, please. Congratulations!

How to edit with final cut express from a flash disk

Generally speaking you cannot do this. Flash disks cannot transfer data fast enough for video editing. You need to put the media files on a hard drive, preferable one with 7200 rpm (though some 5400 rpm drives will work).

Canon Vixia HF 20 how do you get the files onto the mac

This camera stores the video using a unique method, and does not allow you to simply drag and drop the video files - you also can not easily find the camera and play the video real time to transfer it ...
You need a compatible software program, meaning the software needs to be compatible with the camera ... there are many available ... but if you are looking to buy software check to see if it is compatible with your camera before purchasing ... I wonder, what software will you be using to edit the video?
For example, you can use Final Cut Express. It will find the camera as long as the camera is connected via USB and there is power applied to the camera ... once connected, look at the camera LCD screen and select "Computer" for the connection ... then, in Final Cut Express, select Log and Transfer (File menu), and you will get a new window. You camera should be recognized and you can select the video takes that you want to transfer and then hit "add selection to queue" and the transfer will begin.
You will first want to check in Final Cut Express where the transfers will end up on the computer, and pick a suitable location with plenty of hard drive space (Final Cut Express menu / System Settings / Scratch Disks) so you can find them if you want to at some point in the future.

Assuming you will be editing in Final Cut Express, you won't actually need to find them, but its important to select a scratch disk location that has plenty of hard drive space, and if you want to copy one of the clips to use it directly to just upload to YouTube or something like that, you'll know where they are (they will be .mov files, and can play all by themselves using Quicktime or any similar program)

As always, refer to the manual if you run into any problems ...
Hope this helps!
