If it is full of course it won't take any more. look for a belt off the water pump.

Just had a similar problem with my Frigidaire FDB834RFS0 model. Dishes were not getting clean. Noticed some detergent still remaining in the dispenser after completing a wash cycle. Checked the water level during several cycles and noticed it was barely visible in the bottom of the tub. Decided to remove the water supply valve and solenoid to check it, thinking I would probably have to buy another one. Took it apart and found there is a mesh water strainer on the inlet side that was full of bits of junk. Cleaned it out and decided to reinstall to see if it made a difference. Noticed immediately when starting the next cycle that I could hear the water gushing into the tub. The water level rose significantly and the result was clean dishes and no left over detergent in the dispenser.

sounds as though the element is bad, verify this with a Volt/ohm meter

Go to you local Supermarket and purcase a bottle of disjwasher cleaner is about 8 bucks a bottle in some cases you may need to use two bottles I would buy 2 but use just one if it works save the other one for a future occasion.Follow all directions on bottle..Make sure you use it in an empty dishwasher and turn hot water tap on closest to dishawsher to make sure it is filling with hot water...You will be quite surprised at how clean your first load of dishes will look after the cleaning

make sure you are getting plenty of water. Start the D/W without putting soap in disp. run for about 1 minute, Make sure there are no suds inside. If there is, run full cycle to get excessive amount of soap out. If no suds check in pump resevoir to make sure its not clogged.

problem just might be that not draining. when on drain, hold hose into a bucket about 3 feet off floor and check drain rate is good. if plumbed in under the sink, also check no blockage at the sink spigot

Bobalou If you just bought and installed, I'm assuming you dish washer is brand new. It means it has full warranty with Maytag. Do not do anything. It will void your warranty. Call Maytag authorized service. Gendos...post back
