Our jenn air model js9860aab control panel buttons on the panel do not respond--is there a rebuild kit available to repair this -- because without these buttons, the convection oven of this duel fuel range does not work--any ideas -- gmekesa

I did find these. Seems that about everything that can go wrong with a Jenn Air is related to the clock.

The control boards in your appliance may have failed. There is a display board, part number 71001799 and relay board part number 12001693. Commonly we see transformers on these relay boards fail with power surges. Luckily, we do test and repair these parts. There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

Your problem will be either the line fuse, or one of the thermal cutouts / TCOs in the unit.

Are the oven doors locked as well, check if the front panel lock is active. Press and hold both the upper oven Cancel and Cook & Hold buttons for 3 seconds (or a bit longer). (Off should disappear from the display and the Lock indicator will flash.)

If that doesn't help, try pressing Cancel. Then try pressng the Cancel and Cook&Hold keypads together. If this doesn't help, then the control panel or the control itself is damaged and probably needs to be replaced. (Touch pads like this have electrical contacts on a membrane that is impossible to fix long term by cleaning the unit.)

Specifically part 1A and 2 are suspect. The control panel is the more likely part to fail (much like a membrane keyboard).

The replacement clock is no longer avaliable from Jenn Air however in my appliance repair career i run across many still in the field and have included a link for this place in Ohio that will rebuild it and send it back to you. What you would need to do or have a company come and do is remove the clock and ship it to them.Their is a curcuit in the clock that ties into the oven and its very probable that the oven not working is related to teh clock. http://www.appliancetimers.com/index.php?page=db_timer_page&Timer_id=7052&Manufacturer=Jenn-Air&Appliance=Range-Stove-Oven&Model=712024 this is their link contact them and see if they can rebuild yours. If you, or even a repair company remove it to be shipped off to rebuild, take time and make a drawing of where the wires on it go so they can be reinstalled properly once its back to you freshly rebuilt.Also be sure to insulate all the wires taken off since some will be live and if come in contact with metal without proper insulation they could short out something else.

Yes, I believe a kit is available. If you purchased this Jenn Air grill from Lowe's, it was manufactured by Nexgrill Industries. Not Jenn Air. In any event, Lowe's no longer sells the Jenn-Air line of grills. My very best advice is to contact Nexgrill Customer Service @ 800-913-8999. In addition to the burner orifice parts you'll have to have, you will also need a grill tank Hose/Regulator Assembly.

We see (and repair) this a lot. The problem is indeed on the control panel, which we regularly repair nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week.

This light failure often occurs when a bulb goes out and the filament shorts, or when the bulbs are removed or installed without first unplugging the oven from the power line. Either can cause such a failure on the controller.

This can often also affect the exhaust fan operation, too. The lights and fan can be inoperable or stuck on too.
