Hp c6180 states cartridges missing or damaged

OK now this might seem bizarre, but did you go ahead and click the "Black Only" print option?

I have a C6180. Just installed all new cartridges. Tried to print and got the message that Cyan is empty. Tried all sorts of things. Then out of frustration clicked the Black Onl option. Document came out printed in color! Double checked with a picture that has lots of cyan colors. It all printed too! Go figure.

HP 4700 not printing cyan

If your printer is missing a color it could be caused by (off the top of my head) 3 possibilities.
1. High voltage board
2. laser/scanner assembly for that color
3. DC controller might need a firmware upgrade, www.hp.com
Run the PQ diagnostics, check the cyan color
Run the Cartridge Disable diagnostic. Remove all cartridges and take the black cartridge and insert it where the cyan normally is. If the black prints in the cyan slot, your cyan cartridges are bad. If the black doesn't work then go to #3 above. It won't cost any money to upgrade the firmware. If it still doesn't work call in a printer tech.
At this point you may need a printer tech.

I have a HP photosmart D7460 printer, when I bought it it had all the ink cartridges with it.After first install it told me that Cyan & light Cyan were missing & Black was incompatible as it worked...

you are lucky to have use the cartridges of your printer for 19 months. In my office experience, I am actually replacing the cartridges of my printers within a year. Just a regular life span of an ink refilled cartridge.

Magenta (yellow) unit is PAST end of life... (I have changed cartridges I still have this message. I tried to read instruction, and I got following message: Install P/N 108R00649 following the instalation)

Hi armaskopljak:
You have replaced the toner cartridge but you still have to replace the imaging unit which is the drom that the toner cartridge attaches to.
Toner Cartridge OK, Low, Empty When 15,000
(high-capacity cartridge) or
7,500 (standard-capacity
cartridge) pages are
printed (5% print density).
Imaging Units At/Near end-of-life When 30,000 pages are
printed out or when the
pixel counts are
exceeded.
A fuse in the new
imaging unit will blow
upon installation,
resetting the counter.
Verify color calibration. Clean lenses.

Oki C5450 error message

The figure after the K drum Life tells you how much life there is left on the BLACK (K) drum. C indicates Cyan, M indicates Magenta and Y indicates Yellow.

Go to the USAGE MENU and look at the K DRUM LIFE setting. This will be a 2 digit percentage value. As you have just seen the message appear this will mean that the drum life remaining is ....whatever the 2 digit value displays.

The life expectancy of a drum is approximately 15,000 pages.

Installing WinXP or Win2K on 20 GB HDD and Mouse does not select text.

Format the C drive as NTFS and leave the D Drive in tact whilst going through the windows xp setup process.

10gb partition should be plenty of space although 98mb ( are you reffering to the amount of memory ) if so then that may be the issue and if possible I would upgrade that.

Error message: cyan imaging unit is either missing or unseated

The problem is with the top cover assembly. It could be a few things. I would first try the toner sensor flags(the magnet may not be strong enough to read properly). Also replace the toner cartidge because it's magnet may also have gotten weak. Third, I would try the Toner sensor board.

I have had this problem with many printers and normally it is just the flags because of the weak magnets.
