Samsung syncmaster 913v has no image power light flashing

Here's some tricks I would try...
1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or orange or flashing, but nothing displays, or the display is incorrect, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor probably needs replaced.
7. Also, you could try your display on a friend's computer. If it doesn't work, your monitor probably needs replaced. If it works properly on your friends computer, the problem may be with your computers video output port, motherboard video chip (or video card, if you have one), or drivers.

Its your VGA cable that runs from the monitor to the computer and u may also have a bad power chord

This problem often occurs in samsung SyncMaster LCD monitors.

The solution is open your look for the LCD monitor power supply module (which have PCB connector to the AC power), on that board look for capacitors, now look for broken one which upper part is bloated, like the image below:

If you find a damaged capacitor as in the picture then you should replace it with the same value.

I have the same exact problem. The monitor seemed fine yesterday. Today, the power button light just flashes on and off, with nothing on the display.

Either you messed badly with the system color profile management, or, more likely, the VGA cable is faulty or improperly seated. Try unhooking the PC end of the cable (and, if you got yourself a model with removable cable, also the monitor end), and hook them back again, seating the connectors gently but firmly and tightening the connectors' retainer screws.

Sometimes this happens when the pins on the vga connector are bent. You can either try to straighten them (very carefully with tweezers) - be sure to check both ends, or try a new cable.

1. please check by pressing num lock or caps lock key to verify that your machine is booting up, if yes then check the cable and if after changing the display cable it doesnt show up anything, it means you have a faulty unit

2. if numlock/caps lock key doesnt work, then your machine is not booting up, please check for loose ram etc.

Please press Ctrl-Alt and your arrow keys until the image is straight!

Appears to be something in the connection. Check the video cable and pins on the video connector. Also verify the color settings have not been changed on the monitor. There should be an area where you change the RGB levels.
