Try NOT using any install disk.
Turn the TISCALI router off.
Turn the NetGear off.
Use an Ethernet cable to connect from the LAN port on the TISCALI router to the WAN port on the router.
Use another Ethenet cable to connect from one LAN port on the router to the network-port on your computer.
Turn the TISCALI on. Wait 60 seconds.
Turn the NetGear on. Wait 60 seconds.
Restart your computer.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like: Default Gateway....192.168.123.456
Note that the '123.456' will be some other numbers.
Start Internet Explorer.
Type
http://192.168.123.456 (substitute the current values)
Login to the web-server running on the router.
Run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard"
to configure a SSID, an encryption-level (use 'WPA')
and a password for your network.
After the router restarts, you should be able to get wireless access, using the SSID and password that you configured your router to use.
Hi Again, sorry for the confusion - My Fault - , but I posted the question in the "3 com" box and got an answer for a "3 com device". The question concerns the SEIMENS GIGASET 587 WLAN DSL. Is the solution the same? Sorry again for MY mistake.
