Unable to connect to computer

I bought a new Samsung YP-K3 recently, brand new. I opened the box and installed the software that came with it (Samsung Media Center). I followed the directions to connect the player to my computer, however it is not working. I have 2.0 USB ports, and I meet all of the system requirements. The player still charges, but my computer is not recognizing it. How can I solve this?

Computer: Dell Latitude D520
Platform: Win XP

i am facing the same problem with my samsung YP-K3. when i got it and installed the software for the first time it worked fine but after that it didnt. The computer stopped recognizing the device. I have tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the software but it didn't work. My other USB devices are working properly but this mp3 player doesn't work. can n e one solve my problem.

Does you player have media player 11 installed? If it does you need to completely uninstall all traces of it and install media player 10 installed.

It should not even need samsung media centre - it will work directly with windows media player 10. You can also update the software and firmware through the samsung website/support page

NEW SAMSUNG YP-K3 DOESN'T CHARGE

Hi,

The problem is with the battery or the USB cable.
Check the cable first if there is any damage replace it,if there is no damage then the problem is with the battery which is not charging get it replaced and ur problem will be solved..

Enter that site and choose your mp3, I chose K3JAB because that's the one I have. The press 'software' download the Samsung Media Studio!

Samsung YP-K3 mp3 player requires driver but I have no cd!!

I've had this problem. Windows media player doesn't seem to find it, and I couldn't figure out which file I needed from the site. I have xp, but I'm assuming this might also work for vista. Go to Control Panel. Open System. Click the Hardware tab. Click the Device manager button. Find the yellow question mark labled Samsung YP-K3 and doubble click it. This should open a window that will let you (re)install the driver, which it will find for you after having you set up a few simple options. Hope this helps.

Do you have mediaplayer 10 or 11 installed?

Media player 11 is seriously screwed up software and will cause your computer not to recognise the player
.
You will need to remove ALL traces of media player 11 from you computer.

Brand new Samsung YP-K3 charging FOREVER..

well have had my k3 die on me once, pressed reset on the back and it worked again (this in the it doing nothing anymore case) as for the cgarging thing try it on another computer, when I charge my k3 at work it charges all day but I don';t get a full battery, at home I charge it for bout 2 to 4 hours to get full battery. I think it has something to do with ho many things u have connected to ur usb ports or how much output ur computer gives to ur usb, maybe it goes to like a lower voltage to preserve electricity, no idea how to change this but unplug unneccecary things.

i have a samsung GT-S5600V ive installed the software for it 'USB cable' and 'Samsung new PC studio' and ive connected my phone to the computer through the USB cable and its not searching for the device it keeps saying 'the device cannot be opened because another program is currently using it.close the program to connect the device.move to search new device' and im gettin really annoyed PLEASE HELP!
