If it smells like electrical burning or not like rubber then its probably your motor bearings making all the noise which means its not worth repairing.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the advice. I played around with it and peices of bearing started to come out, so yes, it's busted."

My Mom has a Dirt Devil Featherlite and the belt falls off all the time. I put it on three times today and it falls off within a few minutes. The belt post I put it on doesn't have anything to hold the...

It sounds like the belt is too worn and loose to stay on. Buy a new belt specified for that model of vacuum and install. Ensure that there is only a slight amount of give in the belt when you press the middle.

The rubber belts I put on keeps burning when I first put it on, it gets so hot on the metal bar I hook it to, that it splits it it two..how do I fix this???

Sounds like the beater bar is clogged with something. Try removing it and cleaning it up, sometimes hair gets wrapped around it and puts it in such a bind that it will burn the belt.

I have a dirt devil featherlite carpet shampooer. It has been a great one for about five years without any problems. I need to know if anyone knows where I can find the replacement filters?

Hi There,

We actually do carry the foam filter for your Dirt Devil Featherlite (also manufactured as the Easy Steamer) carpet cleaner.

According to the Dirt Devil parts diagram for the CE6000, your machine takes the following foam filter. Here's a direct link to the filter on our website:
Dirt Devil Featherlite, Easy Steamer Foam Filter Part# 1-700750-600

Here's a link for the parts diagram for your Dirt Devil Featherlite CE6000 carpet cleaner. This will give you all of the part numbers, and drawings for each part on your machine should need any further parts:

I hope this helped. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to use the comment field here on the repair page to contact me, I'm always happy to answer any follow up questions.

If you found this repair helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair helpful and / or leave feedback for me. Thanks so much!
