Sound problems Hi I have a axcti mini cam C1. I am having problems hearing the sound while playing back the clip on the cam. I dont have any problems hearing the sound while playing back on my computer. could it be a "problem" in settings or is it a speaker malfunktion. did you test your cam with previously recorded memory stick ?
if it gives sound, it means the speaker and audio sections are working well, if newly recorded scene not gives sound means, there may be problem with the microphone, change it.

Often you won't have that option. What you will want to do is to use video editing software on your computer to string together the ones you want to play continuously and then save that. I believe that with the HDV178 software you can reload an edited video to your cam so that you can play it back on the cam to show friends without having to carry a DVD or computer with you.

This sounds to me like the loading mechanism is having problems. It may be as simple as the grease gumming up a bit, or the motor having a dead spot. Without seeing the machine itself, it is hard for me to say. I'd rebuild the loading mechanism and regrease it. Figure on the local labor rate for this repair as no parts should be required unless the motor has failed.

This camera does record sounds. But, it doesnt look like it has a speaker in it to play them. So, yes unfortunately you wont be able to hear what you record unless you are using something else to playback what you have recorded.

Unfortunately, connecting an external mic is not an option that was engineered into this model camcorder. Likewise the speaker and small amplifier for audio playback is simply what it is. You should be able to adequately hear normally recorded levels. If not, maybe there is a problem with the internal condensor mics or the playback speaker. If you are unable to obtain a resonable level using A/V cables to a TV, then something could be wrong. I have not seen problems with this model regarding sound, but anything can happen. I had the same problem. Try this: open the LCD screen so that you can access the playback buttons.Make sure camera is in playback mode. Press the "menu" button. Select "narration" . Switch narration to "off" .Now you should hear the recorded audio when your tape is playing.

I have the same model and I also had that problem. It turned out to be the motor. Do you hear a faint humming sound? If this is similar, you will have to take it to a designated JVC repair shop.
