Ge frig not working some times

Our frig is getting short circuited? and we hear the clicking sound that stops most time if we press the water cup dispensor. we do not have the water dispensor hooked up. i have opened the back panels up and have found that the fan down below to not be running when there is cliking sound. have cleaned out down below with vacum and blown air. have disconnected the lines running to the circuit board and then reconnect that operate the fan. does not seem to make any difference. the fan blade operates smoothly when running. is there something going on with the circuit board? how can icheck anything more? bought the frig in 10/05 from home depot. sometimes now the frig stops working in the cooling of things. we get it going again, but this should not be happening. thanks.

Have the same exact problem as stated. I just unplugged it and plugged it back in. When I do this it works for about 1 day then starts to click again...

Contact GE and notify them of the problem. Also let them know that you have located numerous other cases of the problem online of people with the same problem. They will set up a service call and will cover the cost of the parts.

Sounds like the capacitor on the dispenser circuit on the main control board has shorted out. You will need to replace the main control on the back of of the refrigerator

HI I hope I have reached Sea Breeze because I see someone had the same or similar problem as we are having from our GE GSS25... side by side refrigerator. this person wrote: "Water now comes out but only...

You have a bad main control board . Located behind the refrig , behind an 8 X 10 " panel . Easily replaceable . Sorry , not Seabreeze . You can reach him at seabreeze appliance parts . com , I think .

When I press the 'power' button, I hear it click, but no picture comes on. I hear it click a couple more times, then it stops.

If it clicks then goes to standby, then the fault is in your power supply circuit. If the sound comes on then the fault is in the line timebase circuit. Aquick way to check the line circuit is to place the back of your hand about 1" from the screen as you switch on, you will feel the hairs on your hand standing to attention.

Clicking noise with my GE GSS22WGP

Your PTC relay is bad it protects the compressor from over heating and overloading. You need to replace it.

First be sure to unplug frig. Remove the cardboard cover that covers most backs of the frig units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken

Water dispenser not working all the time

I think you are correct that its the switch that the push bar hits is faulty. Try a serch on line for applince parts and enter you make etc. This should provide a break down of the part and a idea what is needed to take apart/off to get to it.

TFX22CR GE refrigerator TFX22CRXFWW does Not dispense ice.

I had this problem with a similar refrigerator. The problem was the slide switch burns itself especially if you slide it from ice to water while holding the glass in to get ice and water into your glass. Better to slide it to ice, press the glass in to get ice, release the glass to stop the ice, slide the switch to water, then press the glass in again to get water. I "fixed" mine by removing the control panel and soldering some of the connections on the slide switch together so that we now have no crushed ice function, but the ice cubes work again. You can also replace the circuit board in the control panel to restore it to like-new operation. I could not find a place to order just the slide switch.

Not sure if this is the same problem with your unit, but sounds the same.

Frig and feezer stopped working

It sounds like the overload and relay on the compressor. If the problem isn't that then you need a compressor.
