Hello My xbox seems to work but there is no picture coming up on the tv, have tried switching the scart port and changing the settings on the scart cable between tv and hd but still no joy.
Details of your TV and whether you are trying to use component or not would help, however if you are on a new TV, you may have to connect the console to an older TV and change your Console Settings. It may be on a 480p setting. Do you hear audio? Need more details, please email me

If you are not getting a tidy pic first thing I would check or change is scart lead make sure they are firmly in back of TV and your viewing box if so try another scart lead, the thicker the scart lead is the better they are apparently. Or if your using hdmi lead instead of scart try another hdmi port at back of TV as these ports tend to break easy in TV as they break off the mother board.
You have to use the scart connector for on screen menu settings. Go to the video option and enable HDMI and/or match resolution output to your set.
You did not mention the model of the TV so here is another scenario,
Just because the TV is 1 year old doesn't mean that it is a 1080p capable, you could have set the HDMI resolution settings to 1080p and you will not get any picture if your set cannot process the information.
It's possible that your Xbox is sending out a picture that's higher resolution than your TV can display. Try reducing the resolution of the Xbox video output.
1) Connect the red, white & yellow audio leads in to the 360 scart adapter and then plug this in to the scart socket on the tv
2) change the xbox 360 selector at the back of the console from HD to TV
2) Select the input of scart on the tv
Try using a scart switch, therefore you only have to use a basic scart lead from the TV to the switch. then plug your xbox scart into the switch and it should work
