Better to get a Facsimile Remote, a copy made for the unit. It is unlikely, you can input codes to work both applications in a combined set.

Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily.

If you haven't changed it, it's 50.

To change it, press and release the MENU button on the base unit until the system announces "Set Security Code." Choose a two-digit number from 40 to 99.

Instead of going through all of the different codes, you could try a code search. Here are the steps to do this: 1. turn on the tv. 2. press and hold "set" until the LED blinks twice, then release "set." 3. Using the remote's keypad, enter the digits "9-9-1." The LED should blink twice 4. Aim the remote at the tv and slowly alternate between pressing "power" and "tv" repeatedly until the tv turns off. 5. When the tv turns off, stop pressing the buttons. Press and hold "set" until the LED blinks twice, and then release "set." Your remote should now be programed to your tv.

Do any experts know the answer to this question? It has been posted multiple times, but I dont' see any answers! It is a pitiful manual that is provided by Yamaha for this purpose and nothing is intuitive about making this work. If anyone know the answer, PLEASE POST IT!

Step I: Set the Remote ID (security code) on themachine itself:

1 Press (SET/REC).
2 Press (ANSWER ON/OFF).

A voice guide will say: “Pleaseset the security code. To select, pressthe SKIP or REPEAT button. To enter,press the SET button”.

3 Set a two-digit number between 00 and 99 bypressing (SKIP/QUICK) or (REPEAT/SLOW). Press (SKIP/QUICK) to increase a number, or (REPEAT/SLOW) to decrease.

Each time you press (SKIP/QUICK)or (REPEAT/SLOW), the answering machine announces a number.

4 Press (SET/REC). The remote ID code (security code) is set,and you hear a long confirmation beep.

To change the remote ID code(security code), Enter a new remote ID code (security code). The new code will replace the old one.

Note: If a powerinterruption occurs, the remote ID code will not be erased.
