Why does it burn my rice on the bottom.

I figured out the rice to water ratio problem but it still burns my rice on the bottom. I've tried different outlets in my house and it still does this.

That is common to have the bottom part burn when cooking rice.

what i did was change the ratio of 5 cups water = 4 cups rice.

when its near cooking, dont leave it for a long time since it will continoiusly heat up in the bottom part, i suggest to unplug it when the rice is already cooked.

hope this will help.

My rice cooker is scorching on the bottom.

You need to make sure you have enough water in there. When the rice is cooking, it is sucking up all that water so it can cook and expand. If you don't put enough water in the rice cooker, the rice will use up all the water and then if there is no water left, it will start burning the bottom of the rice because there is no more water.

Hope that helps :)

Rival RCS200 problem

Try this:
  • Before cooking, rinse rice in warm water until water becomes clear. Then place the rice in the inner pot with fresh water.
  • Take care to use proper water to rice ratios.
  • Use a 1:1 ratio of rice to water plus ½ cup of water for white rice and a 1:1 ratio plus ¾ cup of water for brown rice.

Rice burning at bottom of cooker

Your cooker, along with mine, cooks very hot. If it is new then you can take it back, but if you want to cook with it then you need to stir the rice often. About every 5 minutes should be good. As soon as it is done you need to remove it from the cooker. Let's see how that works.
