Go into your Start Menu and right click on My Computer and choose "Properties" from the menu. Click on the Hardware tab on the new window that opened. Select Device Manager. Check to see if your device is recognized under Windows Portable Devices. If your device is not recognized here, what i would recommend you to do is to uinstall the device.

To uninstall the devid just right click on the device name and hit uninstall...the device usually listed under disk drives, portable devices and univeral serial bus controllers.. Once you uninstall the device..you will need to make sure what mode you have the device...turn the device on and click under setting and look for usb mode...then you want to make sure its under MTP mode or Auto....then what you will want to do is to plug the device on that back of the computer not the front...then windows should recognize it...if that doesnt do it you will need to contact the manufacturer of the device.
3. Open Windows Media Player and go to the Sync section. It should be recognized on the right-hand side. If it is not, or if your device has a drive letter after its name (for example F :), your device is not being properly recognized by the computer and you will have to contact the manufacturer of the device.
4. If it is seen in Windows Media Player then disconnect the Device and close all programs.
Next we are going to make sure that Windows Media Player is not storing unnecessary information about your device:

1. Open Windows Media Player.
2. Maximize the program and choose the Tools > Options menu.
3. Click on the Privacy Tab in the open window and choose "Clear Caches" and "Clear History".
4. Re-connect your device and choose "Manual" and "Permanent" on the window that opens.
5. Close Windows Media Player.

I hope that help...
Thank you

Dell Dj version 1.00.03 so i cant find my dell dj program disc and i am having trouble connect my Dell Dj to my laptop .... the usb pick it up but it keeps asking for the driver which i no longer have ......

Hi,

As you have described that you need a driver for your Dell DJ, you may download either Dell DJ (Gen 2), v.1.01.01, A01 or Dell DJ (Gen 2), v.1.00.03, A00. Both versions are compatible with Windows 2000 and XP. Click on download and follow the procedures. Keep in mind that versions of softwares and drivers are limited from manufacturer's releases.

I hope this works for you. Kindly reply for further assistance. Good Luck!

Usb device not recognize

You mentioned that you uninstalled the unknown device from the Device manager. If you uninstall it then connected your usb flash drive you will see an error again on your device manager. This means that the driver for your usb port is not properly installed.

To install it, visit dell website, look for the model of your machine and locate the driver, download it then install from your machine.

Have a Dell Jukebox MP3 Player and now have a new computer. I don't remember what software I had on my old computer, I just want to copy my music on my PC. Thanks

You can still download the drivers and firmware from the dell site for the dj, so you can set up your new computer to work with the dj. (I'm hearing VIsta is not compatible. Not surprising... )One part of the software is the Dell DJ Explorer. It simply opens a window and recognizes your dj. (Make sure it is on and connected)
If DJ Explorer says 'not connected' then right click and click refresh. When it recognizes the DJ, it will say the name you named your dj. Open that like a regular folder and it should read your dj and list all the songs on it. Then simply copy and paste songs to another folder you open on your computer screen; probably should use your My Music folder but that's your choice.
Now that music is saved back onto your computer. Hope that works for you.
A word about the Duebox or Dudebox program and company. I hope they ARE out of business as they scammed me. I checked into it awhile back for a better way to move music around on my 4 DJs and computer, and then bought it. It worked just as they said... at first. I used it to program my first DJ, then basically copied my songs and playlists to the other three (I have one in the house and one in each of our cars and our RV) Great! I'm happy! Then a few weeks or months later, tried to use it again to update, and was told that I could ONLY use it on ONE DJ, and the one I had just plugged in was not the one it recognized. I would have to buy a copy of Duebox for EACH DJ. Bottom line is I no longer support or care much for Duebox, and if they went out of business, then there really is such a thing as karma. I hate scammers.

Cannot get my computer to recognize my Dell Jukebox

Assuming that you don't have windows vista, you can load the Dell DJ Explorer program that came with your DJ. It comes up as a regular looking window that should "see" your DJ when you plug it in. If it doesn't, where it says "not connected", right click and then click refresh. Sometimes it works better to plug in the DJ first, then load dj explorer. When it sees it, "not connected" should change to the name of your DJ. Double click that and it should then 'read' your dj, showing all the files on it. Then its just a tedious amount of copy and paste to another folder on your computer (like your My Music folder), and your music is restored to your computer. Take care, as DJ Explorer can also delete files from your DJ if you tell it to.
If you no longer have the DJ drivers and DJ Explorer and Musicmatch loaded on your computer, you can still download that stuff from the Dell site.
If you Do have Vista, try to find a friend with XP. Load the DJ explorer software on their computer, and pull your music off the dj to your friend's computer, then use a USB drive or something to move it to yours. Or better yet, upgrade your computer from VIsta to Xp (yes, I said upgrade - Vista is ****)
