You will need 1 HDMI cable to link between your DVD player and the Denon, plug the HDMI cord into the HDMI port on the back of your DVD player and the the other end into the Denon 790 HDMI port labeled DVD,then you will need another HDMI cord to go between the Denon and your LCD TV,plug one end of the HDMI cord into the Denon 790 HDMI port labeled HDMI monitor out and the other end into one of the HDMI ports on the back of your TV, it doesn't matter which one you use, just remember that you will have to change the input on the tv to that specific HDMI port when you play back a DVD and you will also have to change the Denon to DVD as your source to send the audio through the Denon to your surround sound speakers.( The Denon owners manual will help!!)
I am not familiar with Foxtel IQ but if it is your digital cable provider this should help, take a cord with RCA style plugs on each end(good quality) and plug one end into your Denon useing the port labeled: coax-2 (sat/cbl) orange in color and then on the back of your digital cable box plug the other end of the cable into the port that looks the same(RCA port, orange) may be labeled SPDF or COAX,sometimes the port will black instead of orange on the back of cable boxes. Hope this helps. Good luck !
