Too early to rate, your suggestion is one that I have not thought of... Sounds reasonable, will try and let you and everyone know the outcome...

    Thanks,

Here is something you can try.

On your source check the output level for your sub.
Try setting up at a higher level, if at 1 set it for 2 or 3
Then adjust the volume control on the sub down to mach the speaker volume level.

Sound and Picture not right.

Check and replace damaged component/s at its audio amplifier stage circuit. Short circuited component/s there. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience.

No sound from speakers, but yes from sub. Grounding issue?

Grounding issues are just simply earth connections that are either loose or are badly soldered. Sometimes with bad soldering a knock on the unit can make it play. It's just a question of going inside and looking - with a lens sometimes - at soldering joints - wire connections and screws fixing. Random cut outs certainly sound like bad soldering problems etc. The only other cause is heat sensitive devices, which shut down when too hot. But I wouldn't jump to that conclusion just yet.

My 2002 chevy malibu's radio seems to be shorting out, the radio will work fine but randomly the sound shuts off the radio still shows the radio station and even says which artist is playing but there...

I'd suggest using the balance and fade controls to cut out each speaker one by one. to possibly determine if you have shorted speaker or speaker wiring. As far as the turn signal clicking noise, the hazard switch is the actual flasher unit for the turn signals, and could be the culprit, but the most likely cause is the turn signal switch itself. It is usually caused by corrosion across the contacts, which can be cleaned out fairly easily, but more typically, the switch is just replaced

My brand new Yamaha RXV 467 in all modes the sound cuts out periodically for a short time. It is random and very annoying. I checked all speaker connections and the sound cuts out even in...

It sounds like you have a intermittent problem in the driver output stage, it should be exchanged for a new one, because this is a problem that can not be fixed easily.

Speakers cut out randomly

The only thing i can think of is the amount of power surging into the speakers is too great and they are cutting of to avoid blowing out. I have a similar issue with my surround sound if i turn it up too loud.

Sound cuts out.

Bad solder joint. Dirty contacts (servisol switch cleaner) or a broken switch. I would have thought!

Sound randomly cuts out

I have seen this issue before.
You could attempt to disable Audio Hardware Acceleration.

This can be found in the Sounds and Audio Devices under Performance (XP Advanced Button under Speaker settings > Performance.)

Good luck

Altec Lansing ada885

Same issue showed up for me today very randomly...

HD comes on and off for no reason and sound cuts in and out. This fix worked for me:

1.Disconnect the left speaker from the sub woofer.
2.Take the 4 screws out on the bottom of the left speaker. (They are under the rubber matting you can just poke holes through it)
3. Remove the bottom plastic assembly from the speaker
4. Cut the 4 wires to the headset chip. Careful not to cut any others to the speakers themselves!
5. Unscrew and remove headset plug chip
6. Reassemble and plug left speaker back into sub woofer.

No more HD issues =)
