Velodyne SPL-1000 Subwoofer Questions & Answers
I have a 2001 SPL10BV.
This may be a power supply or a faulty capacitor that is worn and out of range. It can be tested with an ohmmeter. Most bad caps are swollen, leaking, or have burn marks on the circuit board.

On the back of the speaker has two wire hook ups
Get the user's manual for hookup instructions. Don't bridge anything that you are not sure of. If you are referring to the speakers connections, they are used only if you do not have a sub out from the receiver.

SPL 10BV - no output
Most powered devices have a fuse. Does it work after being turned down in volume? or is it completely dead with no signs of power? or does it show some indicator light but no sound? Check for blown fuse and then for blown speaker coil.

I have a 2002 Velodyne SPL10BV. I used to leave
The problem is in the amplifier section.
This sub uses the same amp the HGS units have. The pre-amp is a lot like the HGS units as well.
The only place you will find to service the unit will be Velodyne.
My guess is that you will need to send the amp section to them.
It is easy to remove, just make sure to mark the speaker leads before you remove them.
For the auto on function.
You may have a low signal to the sub.
If your source has adjustments for the sub output, try setting it up a number or two. Then use the volume control on the subs amp to mach your main speaker volume.

No volume control on Velodyne SPL12BV sub amp
If my memory serves me on this amp, the volume control is actually a chip in the pre-amp section.
You could try and replace the actual knob on the panel and see if that fixes the problem.
If not, you will most likely have to send the amp section back to Velodyne for repair.
If you do send the amp back, use some masking tape and mark the speaker leads. Hooking these back up wrong will blow the driver and the amp.
