VELODYNE HGS10 IS NOT WORKING. WHY ? I DO NOT

Hi,

You will need to remove the screws on the woofer and pull the woofer out of the cabinet. Then use a multimeter, or simply a stereo amplifier to connect to the woofer and see if it is shorted. If so, then a new woofer will repair the sub woofer. If the woofer is fine, then the output stage on the amplifier is gone and it is in need of repair.

If you want to get it repaired, then i would recommend locating a tech at the below link to have them perform testing / repair / replacement as necessary :

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Speaker makes a rather loud humming noise.

You can go buy a audioquest SUB-X subwoofer cable with a additional ground wire on it an connect the ground cable to the ground slot of the receiver an the other end to a screw on the sub or into one of the high output terminals on the woofer if it has them an this will take that humming sound right away but the cable is around $90

I get a buzzing noise whenever the sub is powered

You might have got an earth lead loose. If that is not the case then I would suspect an Electrolytic Capacitor somewhere. These are easy to replace and don't tend to cost a lot.

SPL8R Velodyne sub - Same probelm

Go to the Velodyne web site and check the service center locations.

They may have one in your area.

It sounds like the amp may be the problem. That may be all you need to send.

Best bet, Contact Velodyne.

Crackling coming from Velodyne DD-10 subwoofer

One of 2 things is going on.

First, the servo mounted in the driver may be going bad or is picking up some noise.

Second, Something in the amp section is going bad, hard to pinpoint the exact problem.

you say that it plays, so I tend to think it is the driver mounted servo unit.

If it is within the warranty time, take the unit back to the retailer you purchased it from, if not contact Velodyne for repair.

Need the Velodyne VX-11 fuse location & type ¿?

Already answered for DPS-12 in 2011 which suggests a fuse where the power enters, However, your manual mentions no fuse, but 'protection circuitry'. If there is a fuse, it will be inside and on a circuit board. All fuses have the rating on the end cap of glass fuses and on the side of ceramic fuses, which as also colour coded. https://velodyneacoustics.com/pdf/vx-11/VX-11Manual.pdf

We have a 2.5 year old Velodyne EQ-Max8 Subwoofer. It has suddenly started making loud pulsing sounds. Are you able to give us any advice as to what may be wrong with it? Thanks

It sounds like you may have ripped the passive (the rubber material around the speaker that stretches when the speaker hits. If the passive is not ripped then it may be picking up static, or it could be blown. You can purchase a noise filter fairly cheap and try that.
