HI there,

I don't have that kind of a phone so unfortunately all I can do is Normal 0 to refer you to the free palm chat. For the palm phones I have to know what service provider you use to be able to get you to the correct link. So here is a link to palm support for your phone. Click on the icon for your service provider (Rodgers, AT & T or Palm) From there you want to click on the words “support services” at the top of the page. If you have selected AT&T on the previous page you will be able to do a palm chat. The link for the free chat is located in about the middle of the page. If you have any other provider besides AT&T you have the option to start a repair ticket or if it is under warranty there is a number to call. Best wishes…I hope this will help you. Here is the link....

All of a sudden, when I plug in my garmin nuvi 660 and it boots up, I have the following problem. When I try to enter my state(Texas), after entering the letter T the screen flashes and I get an error...

Make sure your City Navigator map is enabled. To check your map, press the wrench/tools button, then the map icon and then press "map info".

You should see your map listed with a box next to it. This boxed should be checked. If it's not, then your map is turned off. Press the box and to place a checkmark in the box. This will turn your map back on.

I have no Maps when I turn on the Garmin, there is a blue arrow and thats all, no back ground at all

The map may be unselected. To select it;
  • Press TOOLS (The spanner icon on the right bottom of the page that shows WHERE TO and VIEW MAP)
  • Press SETTINGS or LOCALE on models that don't have a SETTINGS icon
  • Press MAPS
  • At the bottom of the screen press MAP INFO
This takes you to a screen that shows whatever maps are on the satnav. If there's not a tick beside the map name the map is unselected. Press on the map name and it will become selected. This should solve your problem.

I went in and removed all my pictures from the unit and all languages except english. Now my map is gone, poi screen is blank and when I try to set a destination it only shows the interstate no city...

Check if your map is selected.
  • Press TOOLS the spanner icon on the WHERE TO and VIEW MAP page
  • Press SETTINGS the spanner icon (Or LOCALE on some models, the blue icon)
  • Press MAPS
  • Press MAP INFO on the bottom centre of the screen
Your map name should be there with a tick beside it. If the tick is not there press the map name and it will appear. This may solve the problem.

If the map is not there you'll need to download it again. If you've got a garmin account log into myGarmin. If not you'll need to register your satnav first. To register it
  • Connect the satnav to your computer and go to www.garmin.com.
  • Select your country from the dropdown list and click "Register your garmin device".
  • Follow the prompts.
  • You'll be asked to create a username and password. Keep them safe. You'll need them anytime you need to update your maps or solve problems in the future.
Once you've registered you'll be able to log into myGarmin. When you're logged in click on the myMaps tab. There you'll see the name of the map on your satnav. Under the map name you should see a link in small blue writing DETAILS.
Click on DETAILS and it should give you an option to download the map again. Download it to your computer or direct to the satnav and it should solve the problem. If you download to the computer use MAPINSTALL, which will be installed into a GARMIN folder in your programs list, to install the map to your satnav.

Can't view downloaded sections from Garmin Topo

In Map Setup page, scroll over to blue 'ball' icon (second from right), press lower left button on side of GPS unit, use Thumb switch to scroll down to "Show None", click Thumb switch in. All maps will disappear. Press lower left button on side of GPS unit again, scroll down to "Show Topo.....", click Thumb switch in. Your Topo maps should now show onscreen.

The reason your Topo map might not have shown is because, if you leave the Navigator map showing, and then just press "Show Topo", the layer showing Topo will still be under the Navigator map. This is why I always tell it to show none, and then load whatever map I need to see onto a bare screen.

If this solved your problem, please come back and rate our answer as this assists others. Thank you.

Changing maps already installed

Hi, Answers to your 2 questions 1 and 2 . ...... 1/ go into PREFERENCES , hit right arow key till you see MANAGE MAPS , Tap that MAP icon and in there will be all the maps you have on the SD card. Select the map you require by tapping the screen. ............................................. 2/ YES , backup the SD card to your PC first. ( you should save everything on the card as it is ) Then delete the Europe map off the SD card and replace it with the USA map . You will need the authorisation code for the USA map in order to activate it. When you return you can swap the maps back again.
